There are no rules when it comes to planning your wedding day and you definitely don’t have to stick to the traditional table numbers from 1-10 (unless of course you want to!) Choosing your table names gives you the opportunity to add some fun into your wedding day and let your wedding guests know a little bit more about you as a couple! We’ve put together our favourite unique wedding table name ideas to help you get the creative juices flowing and inspire you to do something a little bit different for your wedding table centrepieces. First up, it's an oldie but goodie! I’ve seen this been done time and time again and although it’s not ground-breaking, I still think it’s a really nice idea! Weddings are a celebration of a couple and what better way to do that then taking a trip down memory lane and sharing with your guests all the amazing places that you’ve travelled together?
This is one of my favourite table name ideas for weddings. I like the curiosity that comes with naming your tables random numbers and it’s bound to be a conversation start for your guests when they inevitably start to wonder what the number means. You could even turn it into a guessing game and reveal the answers during the speeches! Here’s some ideas for what meaningful numbers you could use as wedding table names:
If you’re anything like me, then you’ll have your favourite go-to drink. Different alcohol brands are great table name ideas, and you could even use the empty bottles as part of your centrepiece display and wedding venue decor. For example, if you’re a big gin fan, you could name each table after a different brand of gin. This could work with your favourite anything, favourite cheeses, favourite food, favourite wine… you get the idea!! This is what we did for our wedding table names. We used our favourite food and drink spots that we’ve visited over the years on some of our most memorable date nights. These were places that we’d visited on holidays, our local pub, fancy restaurants, and anything that was special to us as a couple. We even displayed a picture of us from the date night next to the table name sign.
If your wedding has a theme, then your table names are a perfect way to communicate the theme to your guests. If you’re having a festival themed wedding, you could name your tables after you favourite bands. If you’re having a colourful summer wedding, you could name your tables named after different seasonal flowers.
